Intermediate Fused Glass Class will cover advanced cutting techniques including circles, if required by your project, as well as slumping and draping. There will be more hands-on time than the Beginner Fused Glass Class and one larger project will be completed in one four-hour hands-on class and a second one-hour class {optional}. Choose to create a bowl, plate, platter, votive holder or vase, up to 11 inches in diameter or 12 inches square. The first half of class will be spent creating your piece (choosing glass, cutting and assembling) and getting it ready to fuse. During the second half of the class you will learn about any cold working that may be necessary to get the piece ready to slump or drape after it has been fired.
The second one-hour class is held so you can ready the piece you fused in the first class for slumping or draping. This class is optional, but recommended. All course content will be covered in the four-hour class and you will receive a handout with all the information.
The base glass for your Intermediate Fused Glass Class project will be clear and you will be able to use any other color available to create your design. The overall look of your piece will be determined by the fusing method you choose- full, dimensional or tack.
The fee for Intermediate Fused Glass Class is $250 for classes pre-scheduled by Sassy Glass Studio and $300 for classes scheduled on the date and time you choose. Class fee includes all glass, supplies and tools to create one project up to 12 inches in diameter or square. Fee is due at least one week prior to first class and may be paid via cash, check, or credit card. Contact Lisa at 865.406.3870 or lisa@sassyglassstudio.com to schedule your classes.
