Got Heart? | Fused glass pendants and rings
It's that time of year gain when shop shelves are filled with hearts, chocolate and suggestions of lacy lingerie. We're jumping on the Valentine's Day bandwagon with a fabulous selection of fused glass pendants and rings featuring hearts in red, pink and black. Yes, even black! Not everyone loves this holiday, so the black is kind of the anti-Valentine's Day choice. Or maybe they just love black.
Here are a few of the items available in the Etsy shop:

Show Your Spirit | Fused Glass Jewelry and More in Your Team's Colors
I will admit I was a little freaked out when I moved to Knoxville in 1999. The University of Tennessee Volunteers had won the National Championship in 1998 and the Big Orange fever was high and rising. Everywhere I turned there was orange. Shirts, hats, car flags, hair clips, dog collars, bathing suits. Anything you could license (or not) was in UT Vols orange or featured the Power 'T' logo. Heck, even the McD's on the Strip near campus was orange.
So, although I knew orange was very popular for the people of Tennessee, I never really jumped on the bandwagon when creating pieces for Sassy Glass Studio. Sure, I made the occasional set of orange and white checkerboard coasters, but I didn't have a line of jewelry or anything. Until now. Check out the UT Vols-inspired fused glass pendants, earrings, hairpins, cocktail rings and tie tacks that are currently available in the shop as well as the coasters that can be custom created in quantities of 1 to 100. Why stop at jewelry or coasters? Plates, platters, bowls and business card holders can be created in orange and white too.
Orange isn't your team's color? No problem! Being from Massachusetts, I don't have allegiance to any particular team so I am more than happy to create jewelry or any of the other pieces mentioned above in your teams colors. Almost any color of the rainbow is available. Just ask! Pricing is the same no matter what the color combination.
Show Your Spirit with Sassy Glass Studio's one-of-a-kind fused glass art and jewelry! Enjoy...

Put a Ring On It | Fused Glass Rings {one-of-a-kind fused glass art | Knoxville TN}
A couple of years ago I purchased a sterling silver adjustable ring from Delphi Glass and set about creating a fused glass cabochon in black with pink on top to attach to the ring. I learned a lot from this ring. I learned that you need to roughen up the surface of the ring pad before gluing the cab to it so it won't come off and also that I needed to use E6000 adhesive instead of Aileen's Bead and Jewelry glue. The first time the cab came off the ring pad I was in a port-a-pottie. Thank goodness it fell onto the floor. This should have been a sign that I should not create anymore rings, but alas, it was not.
Fast-forward to July 2010 when I make another attempt at creating fused glass rings with surprising success. This time around I am using some adjustable silver-toned metal rings with a pad that I scuff with sandpaper before gluing the cabochon with E6000. It's always amazing how much you learn by just doing and analyzing the results! These rings are pretty fabulous - different sizes, shapes and in all colors of the rainbow. The photographs below show a selection from the first batch of rings. More are ready to be finished and will be available in the Etsy shop soon. All rings are $20. Don't see the perfect color combination or size for you? Let Sassy Glass Studio custom create a fused glass ring just for you!
