Fused Glass Goodness Available at Ijams Nature Center Gift Shop

Happy New Year!

I'm working on my goals and crossing tasks off my to-do list like a boss and it's only the third day of 2017! Although 2016 was a year filled with awesomeness, it was also laced with some not so spectacular events, so I am ready for a clean slate/fresh start/another 365 days to create! Big news!
Yesterday morning I dropped off a stack of Fusography coasters and a selection of pendants to Ijams Nature Center's Gift Shop. I was asked a year or so ago to put some items in the shop aaaaand I finally got nudged enough so I finally did! So now you can find my fused glass goodness at Southern Market and Ijams.

Fusography: order early for holiday gift giving

You're probably thinking, why are you talking about holiday gift giving in August? December is four months away! In the handmade world, four months seems more like four weeks when you're busy completing orders and creating inventory to sell at markets and in your online shop. So, this is just a little public service announcement to remind you to get your holiday orders in early. Fusography orders take three to four weeks to complete, so you'll want to get those in soon. Most other items can be completed in two weeks or less (if I don't have to special order glass).

I was ordering some decals for a custom order of coasters today and that's what made me think about the holidays. I've got some fun holiday graphics that I will be sharing over the next few months, so let me know if something strikes your fancy and we'll get your order placed.

Fusography video series and ebook coming soon!

Good news for those of you who have been waiting patiently for the Fusography workshop video series! It will be available in August! If you are interested in updates on the video series or want to be informed of when it is available for purchase, sign up here. I've been working on the content and now I'm almost ready to start shooting the video. If I were to teach an in-person Fusography class/workshop it would take about a week, so the video series is the smartest, most time-efficient approach, even though I love in-person teaching. Maybe I will offer a downloadable cardboard cutout so you can pretend I am there teaching.

Have you ever realized you have waaaay too many of a certain thing? Maybe it's shoes. Maybe it's makeup. Maybe it's cats. What do you do when you make this realization? You declutter. Fresh from the kiln: Fusography Coasters

Fresh from the kiln

These Fusography coasters just came out of the kiln and I'm working on getting them listed in the Etsy shop, but had to share them here first.

It's been a while since I did any with this cute camera design and the red and mint green are two new colors I haven't done before. What do you think?

Be sure to check the Etsy shop for these listings or drop me a line and let me know if you see one (or more) that you must have! Coasters are $15 each and shipping is $6 for up to 4 coasters.

I'll be listing these coasters in the Etsy shop today and tomorrow! Custom coasters, pendants, plates, and platters are also available with your own images! You send me the image(s), I turn them into fusible decals, create the fused glass pieces, fire the decals and you get one-of-a-kind fused glass art!

Want to learn something new?

It feels great to be back to doing all the things I love like riding my bikes, working in the glass studio and teaching fused glass classes! Yes, you heard that right, I'm back to teaching classes!! If you are interested in learning how to create your own fused glass art or want to take your skills to the next level, contact me to sign up for either the Beginner Fused Glass Class or Intermediate Fused Glass Class. Both classes are four hours and you get to choose the date and time that works best for you. Plus if you and  up to two friends sign up to take a class together, you each save 10% off the cost of the class. Classes are usually limited to three students, but if you don't mind getting close to your friends I can do a group of four. Summer is always a fun time to learn something new!
