Knoxville Twestival 2009...Meeting My Tweeps {one-of-a-kind fused glass art | Knoxville, TN}
It has been very hectic around Sassy Glass Studio, but I made time on Thursday, September 10th to attend Knoxville Twestival 2009 which was presented by Social Media Club of Knoxville, Knoxville Overground, Knoxville Social Media Association at the Knoxville Zoo. Social media has been a great way to promote our businesses and I have been utilizing Facebook, Twitter, this blog and local social media venues with great success. As soon as I spotted a tweet on Twitter that Knoxville Twestival was looking for donations for their silent auction I knew Sassy Glass Studio should be a part of this event. The fused glass vase shown above was created especially for the event and it went home with @iberrychick at the end of the evening. The event was wonderful, well attended and raised over $3,000 for the Salvation Army of Knoxville. It was great to have the opportunity to meet many of my tweeps and make some business connections as well.

Golden Sunflower Fused Glass Bowl featured on Etsy's Front Page {one-of-a-kind fused glass art | Knoxville, TN}
Golden Sunflower fused glass bowl was featured in a gorgeous yellow and grey Etsy Treasury by elizamize a couple of days ago and it was featured on the front page. If you aren't familiar with the Etsy front page then you might not know that this is a pretty big deal. Lots of people will see your handmade item on the front page and it gives your shop a lot of exposure. Many thanks to Elizabeth for including me in her striking Treasury and making my day!

Sassy Glass Studio Loves You! {one-of-a-kind fused glass art | Knoxville, TN}
Sassy Glass Studio has been very busy creating fused glass goodness, much of which has been custom creations for folks who have found Sassy Glass Studio on Etsy, through Facebook, Twitter, word-of-mouth or this blog; and I am grateful to have so many "fans" of my work. I love each and every one of you! I have also discovered I absolutely love teaching and now offer fused glass classes at both the beginner and intermediate levels in my studio. The look on student's faces when they create their projects is truly priceless. Their excitement fuels my own creativity and fires my passion for creating fresh fused glass art. The classes are a great way to explore a new art, learn new skills and create one-of-a-kind fused glass art to keep or give as gifts. Wouldn't you love to be able to give someone a pendant or set of coasters you made all by yourself?
So, besides creating fused glass goodness and teaching other how to create their own, I am also involved with the Knoxville Creative Hands Street Team (KCHST) which is a collective of Knoxville-area artists and craftspeople selling their handmade goods on Etsy. We are getting ready for our first annual Holiday Show & Sale on November 7th and the fun starts tonight with a Meet and Greet at West Town Mall. Our first Show & Sale was in May and it was fabulous fun. It's a grass roots kind of event that gets everyone involved to spread the word and make it a success. I will be posting more information here, but you can also become a fan of the Knoxville Creative Hands Street Team Facebook page by clicking here or follow us on Twitter. If you would like more information about the KCHST or the Holiday Show & Sale, please contact me at lisa@sassyglassstudio.com.
Lastly, I want to thank all of the wonderful people who have become fans of Sassy Glass Studio and encouraged me to continue to build and expand my fused glass art in new directions and who have featured me on their websites and blogs and in their Etsy Treasuries. It means a lot to me to be recognized by fellow artists and craftspeople and I like to share these little bits of recognition on the Sassy Glass Studio Facebook page and on Twitter.
Now you know what Sassy Glass Studio has been up to lately and I hope you will stop by for a visit again soon!
Here's some fused glass goodness to start your day!
